The invention relates to a preparation method of a modified basalt fiber for an expansion fiber anti-crack waterproof agent, wherein the preparation method comprises the following steps: S01, firstly melting sepiolite and basalt, and then cooling and drawing basalt fibers; S02, adding a silane coupling agent into an ethanol solution to obtain a coupling agent solution with the mass fraction of 2%; S03, soaking the basalt fibers in the coupling agent solution; S04, after the basalt fibers are dispersed in the coupling agent solution, pouring the obtained solution into a container, putting the whole solution into a water bath device, and heating for 1 h at the constant temperature of 80 DEG C; and S05, taking out short fibers, and drying to obtain the modified basalt fibers. The preparation method has the beneficial effects that after a certain amount of sepiolite is added into basalt and is melted at high temperature, the basalt can be melted with the sepiolite, and a chemical reaction is carried out, so that the modified basalt with a new net-shaped structure is formed. The chemical durability, the flexibility, the heat-resistant strength and the like of the basalt fibers are remarkably improved.
