The invention relates to a corrosion-resistant aluminate neutron absorbing material and a preparation method thereof. The chemical components of the aluminate neutron absorbing material comprise (Re2O3) X-(Al2O3) 1-X, wherein Re is selected from at least one of rare earth elements, and X is equal to 0.2-0.8. The neutron absorbing material is a stable structure compound formed by taking a rare earth element as a neutron absorber and aluminum and oxygen as structure stabilizers, can meet the requirements of a fault-tolerant neutron absorbing material with a long service life, and is excellent in mechanical property, resistant to subcritical water or steam corrosion, high in neutron absorber content, and good in thermal shock performance; and the neutron absorbing material is an ideal nuclear reactor control rod absorbing body material.
