The invention relates to the field of refractory material preparation, in particular to a refractory material preparation process. The process comprises the following steps: S1, taking bauxite, magnesite and graphite, and grinding the bauxite, the magnesite and the graphite into powder; S2, adding an adhesive into a mixture of the bauxite, the magnesite and the graphite which are ground into powder; S3, adding the bauxite, magnesite and graphite with the adhesive into a compaction device, and adding refractory fibers into the compaction device; and S4, compacting the refractory fibers, bauxite, magnesite and graphite together by using the compaction device. The compaction device comprises door-shaped molds and slotting blocks, the left door-shaped mold and the right door-shaped mold are arranged, the two door-shaped molds can be close to or away from each other, and the slotting blocks are arranged in the middles of the inner sides of the two door-shaped molds. The compaction device further comprises a fixing sleeve, a handheld column and middle grooves, the middle groove is formed in the middle of each door-shaped mold, and the two slotting blocks are arranged in the two middle grooves respectively.
