The invention belongs to the field of foundation treatment, and particularly relates to a construction method for forming a hole in a large-thickness sandy gravel layer through a rotary drilling rig. The construction method comprises the following steps of (S1) measuring and setting out a pile position according to a design drawing; (S2) putting a drilling machine in place, and burying a pile casing; (S3) rapidly drilling to the upper side of the sandy gravel layer by adopting a single-layer bottom barrel drilling tool and form relieved teeth, adding slurry in the position 5 m before the sandy gravel layer is drilled, and performing slurry wall protection; (S4) drilling the sandy gravel layer for the first time by adopting a friction type drill rod, a double-layer bottom barrel drill and cutting teeth, then taking out sandy gravel, and additionally, recording footage data H1; (S5) putting the drilling tool again after the drill is lifted and soil is unloaded, and additionally, checking footage data H2 again; (S6) selecting a subsequent construction method according to H2-H1; (S7) using other drilling tools and drilling rods, and continuing drilling to reach the designed position; (S8) installing a reinforcement cage and a guide pipe in a drill hole; and (S9) pouring concrete.
