The construction method comprises the following steps that S1, a construction area of the steel sheet pile cofferdam is determined; S2, a steel casing is inserted and hit, a guide frame bracket is welded, and a guide frame and a limiting clamping plate are connected to the guide frame bracket; S3, inserting and driving construction of the steel sheet piles is conducted through the guide frame; S4, bottom sealing concrete is poured at the bottom of the steel sheet pile cofferdam; S5, a plurality of surrounding purlins and inner supports are arranged in the steel sheet pile cofferdam; S6, secondary bottom sealing is conducted on the bottom of the steel sheet pile cofferdam; S7, after accumulated water in the steel sheet pile cofferdam is pumped through a water suction pump, a bearing platform is poured on the bottom sealing concrete; and S8, after the bearing platform is formed, the steel sheet pile cofferdam is dismantled. The construction method of the steel sheet pile cofferdam deeply covered with the sandy gravel layer is easy to operate, the construction process is safe and reliable, and the construction progress is fast.
