The preparation method comprises the following steps: preparation of rare earth tailing ultrafine powder, quantitatively weighing, slurry preparation, powder preparation by a dry method, rolling into balls, drying, sintering, and surface polishing treatment. According to the invention, rare trace elements contained in the rare earth tailings and the characteristic that the rare earth tailings generate far infrared rays for sterilization are utilized, so that the product has antibacterial and sterilizing performance, and the magnesium reinforced ceramic and zirconium oxide are added, so that the sintered ceramic ball has high mechanical strength, high surface hardness, wear resistance and no breakage.
