The invention relates to a novel earthquake isolation structure which comprises a periodic structure. The periodic structure comprises a plurality of mass blocks which are overlapped in the direction perpendicular to the ground. The mass block comprises an outer mass body and an inner mass body, the inner mass body is located in the outer mass body, and the inner mass body and the outer mass body are connected through an elastic piece; the inner mass body performs simple harmonic vibration in a plane parallel to the ground relative to the outer mass body through the elastic piece; an elastic structure is arranged between the two mass blocks, and the elastic structure is used for connecting the two adjacent mass blocks.
