The invention discloses light stone-plastic clay which is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 35-55 parts of shell powder, 8-18 parts of gypsum powder, 6-18 parts of calcined kaolin, 10-20 parts of lignin fibers, 4-18 parts of water, 1-10 parts of polyvinyl acetate emulsion, 1-7 parts of peach gum, 1-10 parts of a humectant, 0.1-1.5 parts of a coupling agent and 0.1-1.5 parts of a preservative. Meanwhile, the invention provides a corresponding preparation method. The stone-plastic clay disclosed by the invention is flexible in texture, has good plasticity, can be repeatedly processed, can delicately depict all details, does not need to be baked, can be naturally air-dried, can be polished after being cured, is high in finished product texture, and feels like ceramics after being colored.
