The invention belongs to the field of building construction, and particularly relates to a waterproof structure for a horizontal construction joint of a side wall in a cover-excavation top-down method, which comprises a molded concrete wall and a brake shoulder concrete wall, the molded concrete wall is positioned below the brake shoulder concrete wall, and an upper-layer horizontal construction joint is arranged between the molded concrete wall and the brake shoulder concrete wall; a groove is reserved in the bottom of the brake shoulder concrete wall, a trapezoidal water stop rubber strip is placed in the groove, and a grouting pipe is embedded in the top of the molded concrete wall. The groove is filled with PJ400 water-swelling water-stopping glue which protrudes out of the concrete surface by not less than 5 mm, full-section grouting pipes of 8-12 mm are symmetrically arranged on the two sides of the groove, the outer side of the side wall is guided by not less than 500 mm through a three-way pipe, grouting is conducted through a pressure type grouting machine after post-pouring side wall concrete construction is completed and the design strength is achieved, and the waterproof effect of a construction joint is ensured.
