Herringbone ladder pivot and locking mechanism
A ladder with a lockable pivot arrangement is disclosed. A lockable pivot arrangement is located and connected between the two elongate ladder portions. And at least two jacks are arranged in each pair of end shells. A pivot mechanism is connected between the end shells that rotate in unison and also allow a pair of end shells to rotate relative to the housing. A locking mechanism within the housing has at least two locking members, each locking member having an actuator, each actuator having a free end. There is an elastic biasing element that biases the two locking members and the corresponding free ends and actuators apart from each other, the positions of the two actuators biased apart allowing single hand actuation to overcome the bias to unlock the rotation of the housing.
