The invention discloses a construction method of a steel sheet pile cofferdam. The construction method comprises the following steps that 1, a permeable cushion layer is arranged at the bottom of an excavated foundation pit; 2, pressure reducing pipes are additionally arranged at multiple positions of the bottom of the foundation pit; 3, a bottom sealing concrete layer is arranged on the upper side of the permeable cushion layer; 4, a bearing platform sealing layer is arranged on the upper side of the bottom sealing concrete layer; 5, pressure reducing pipes are arranged at multiple positions of the foundation pit, penetrate through the bearing platform sealing layer and are inserted into the water permeable cushion layer arranged in the step 1; and 6, after the bottom sealing concrete layer is finally set, frame ring beams are additionally arranged around the steel sheet piles of the foundation pit through an underwater formwork erecting method. According to the construction method of the steel sheet pile cofferdam, disturbance caused by too deep excavation of the foundation pit base is reduced, construction safety is guaranteed, the rigidity and safety of a steel sheet pile cofferdam supporting system are improved, and the working efficiency of foundation pit construction is improved.
