The invention discloses a maintenance method and system for a box girder located above a transformer, and relates to the field of bridge demolition and bridge maintenance and reinforcement construction.The maintenance method comprises the steps that a protection platform used for preventing falling objects and a protection shed frame used for preventing electricity are erected between the box girder to be maintained and the transformer, the protection platform and the protection shed frame are located outside the safety distance of the transformer. A reinforcing assembly used for reinforcing is arranged at the crack of the to-be-maintained box girder; the to-be-maintained box girder is cut, so that the to-be-maintained box girder is separated from the bridge structure, and the to-be-maintained box girder is hoisted and disassembled through hoisting equipment; and transporting the newly-built box girder to an installation site, and installing the newly-built box girder. According to the maintenance method, the transformer is protected outside the safety distance of the transformer in advance, the to-be-maintained box girder is reinforced, and then the working procedures of cutting, hoisting, newly-built box girder installation and the like are carried out, so that the cracked box girder can be maintained under the condition that the safety of the transformer is guaranteed.
