The invention belongs to the technical field of steel structure installation, and particularly relates to a steel column installation perpendicularity measuring method, which comprises the following steps of: finding out longitudinal and transverse geometric center lines of a steel column, arranging a ruler and theodolites, simultaneously measuring the two theodolites, and measuring the perpendicularity of the steel column by utilizing the up-down swinging function of lenses of the theodolites. Reading a scale reading M1 below the solid-web steel column and a scale reading M2 above the solid-web steel column in sequence; the real-time perpendicularity of the steel column is calculated through a formula (M1-M2)/L; and continuously and repeatedly measuring until the longitudinal and transverse real-time perpendicularity of the solid-web steel column meets the requirements at the same time, fixing the solid-web steel column, and finishing the installation and adjustment of the solid-web steel column. Through the measurement combination of the ruler and the theodolite, the verticality measurement requirements of field installation of various steel structure straight columns such as solid-web steel columns and combined steel columns can be met, the verticality measurement operation becomes convenient, efficient and accurate, the influence of the environment on measurement is reduced, the measurement precision is ensured, the measurement efficiency is improved, and the installation cost is saved.
