The invention discloses a method for reinforcing a masonry wall through a steel wire mesh rope-polymer mortar layer. The method comprises the steps that firstly, a base layer wall body is treated on the side, needing to be provided with a reinforcing layer, of a wall body to be reinforced; secondly, a steel wire mesh is installed on the side, subjected to base layer wall body treatment, of the wall body to be reinforced; an adhesion agent is sprayed on the side, subjected to base layer wall body treatment, of the wall body to be reinforced; thirdly, the formwork and the to-be-reinforced wall on the side subjected to base layer wall treatment are fixed in parallel through a formwork supporting system, and the distance required by construction is kept between the formwork and the to-be-reinforced wall; fourthly, stirred mortar is poured into a cavity between the formwork and the wall to be reinforced; and fifthly, after the mortar is hardened, the formwork and the supporting system of the formwork are dismantled. The invention further discloses a polymer mortar formula for the method for reinforcing the masonry wall through the steel wire mesh rope-polymer mortar layer.
