The invention discloses a vibration damping device for a frame type ballast bed, which comprises a plurality of mass units (10), a supporting structure unit (20) and a vibration damping cushion layer (30), and is characterized in that the supporting structure unit (20) comprises two supporting beams (21) which are respectively fixed on a cross beam (2) of the frame type ballast bed and respectively extend in parallel along the direction of a longitudinal beam (1) of the frame type ballast bed; the supporting structure unit (20) and the cross beam (2) of the frame type ballast bed form a frame type structure; wherein the two ends of each mass unit (10) are in lap joint with the two supporting beams (21) of the frame type structure respectively, and the anti-vibration cushion layer (30) is arranged between the contact surfaces of the mass units (10) and the supporting beams (21).
