The invention relates to a liftable twist drill railway ballast cleaning machine. Comprising a walking device, a lifting device, a rotary limiting device, a horizontal moving device and a ballast cleaning device. The walking device longitudinally moves along the steel rail; the horizontal moving device is installed on the walking device and used for driving the lifting device, the rotary limiting device and the ballast cleaning device to move transversely. The lifting device is installed on the horizontal moving device and used for driving the rotary limiting device and the ballast cleaning device to ascend and descend. The rotary limiting device is mounted on the lifting device and is used for rotating the ballast cleaning device to a preset angle; the ballast cleaning device comprises a first auger bit and a second auger bit which are perpendicular to each other, a plurality of rake teeth are distributed on the first auger bit and the second auger bit respectively, the first auger bit is used for cleaning railway ballasts between sleepers, and the second auger bit is used for cleaning railway ballasts below the sleepers. The ballast cleaning device is suitable for working environments with narrow spaces and can clean stone ballasts between railway main tracks and various turnout sleepers and below the sleepers.
