The invention discloses a waterproof coiled material and a preparation method thereof.The waterproof coiled material comprises a sheet layer, a modified asphalt self-adhesive layer, an anti-sticking particle layer, an oil sealing coating and an anti-ultraviolet coating, and the anti-sticking particle layer is formed by laying particulate matter; the oil sealing coating is of a continuous film layer structure covering the multiple particles and the surface, exposed through gaps between the particles, of the modified asphalt self-adhesive layer, and the minimum particle size m of the particles and the total thickness n of superposition of the oil sealing coating and the anti-ultraviolet coating meet the relation that n is smaller than or equal to m/10. The oil sealing coating of the waterproof coiled material is arranged between the anti-ultraviolet coating and the anti-sticking particle layer, the arrangement position is crucial, components in the modified asphalt self-adhesive layer can be prevented from leaking, the relative positions of particles in the anti-sticking particle layer can be fixed, and the anti-ultraviolet coating can be prevented from being polluted by the components of the other layers.
