The invention relates to the field of cement production, in particular to delayed coagulation type barium silicate cement and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method comprises the following steps: S1, cleaning harmful organic matters in phosphogypsum through a cleaning device; s2, the cleaned phosphogypsum is dried; s3, crushing barium carbonate and silica, and grinding into powder; s4, putting barium carbonate and silica powder into a furnace, and heating to obtain barium silicate cement clinker; and S5, mixing and stirring the barium silicate cement and ardealite to prepare the delayed coagulation type barium silicate cement. In the step S4, barium carbonate and silica powder are put into a furnace to be heated to 1400-1450 DEG C. The invention relates to delayed coagulation type barium silicate cement prepared by a preparation method of the delayed coagulation type barium silicate cement. The delayed coagulation type barium silicate cement is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 5 parts of barium carbonate, 1 part of silica and 1 part of phosphogypsum. Harmful organic matters in the phosphogypsum can be cleaned through the cleaning device, and then the delayed coagulation type barium silicate cement is prepared from the phosphogypsum.
