The invention belongs to the technical field of underground space development, and discloses an underground building construction method which comprises the steps that S1, an underground foundation pit is excavated through excavating equipment, a top plate is constructed on the construction ground surface, and the top plate covers an opening of the foundation pit; s2, a supporting cross beam is lowered into the foundation pit, the supporting cross beam is fixed to the designed elevation position of an underground N-layer floor slab needing to be constructed, and excavation continues to be conducted on the lower portion of the supporting cross beam through excavation equipment; s3, a formwork assembly is erected on the basis of the supporting cross beams, and concrete is poured into the formwork assembly to form a current floor slab; s4, after the current floor slab reaches the maintenance time, the formwork assembly is dismantled; s5, a supporting cross beam is lowered, the supporting cross beam is fixed to the designed elevation position of an underground (N + 1)-layer floor, and excavation continues to be conducted on the lower portion of the excavation equipment; and S6, the step S3 and the step S4 are repeated to complete construction of the underground (N + 1) floor slabs. According to the construction method, the pouring construction procedure of the floor and the excavation procedure of the lower space can be synchronously carried out, and the construction period is effectively shortened.
