The invention discloses a construction method for an underground building in a narrow area. The construction method comprises the following steps that S1, a supporting structure is constructed on the boundary of a to-be-constructed area; s2, after construction of the to-be-supported structure is completed, earth excavation is conducted on a construction area; s3, when the foundation pit is excavated to the preset depth, secondary supporting is conducted through steel sheet piles, and a core tube underground construction area is formed; s4, construction of the underground part of the core tube of the building to be built is completed in the underground construction area of the core tube, and then construction of an upper structure and an underground structure peripheral area of the core tube is conducted; s5, when construction of the core tube ground of the to-be-built building reaches +/-0.00, partial basement roof construction of the to-be-built building is conducted, and basement roof closing is completed; and S6, the core tube is used as an unearthed channel, earth cutting operation of the underground space is completed step by step, earth cutting operation from the first layer of the basement to the bottom plate of the basement is completed, and after the earth cutting operation of the underground space is completed, an underground building is constructed upwards from the bottom plate of the basement.
