The control method comprises the steps that according to the width of a green belt, the calibrated maximum air speed of a local area and the working air speed of an air blowing cylinder, the maximum air speed is determined when the air blowing cylinder blows garbage; the maximum deviation distance in the length direction of the edge of the green belt connected with the collecting opening of the green belt sweeping and collecting vehicle is caused by the influence of outdoor wind speed; determining a garbage collection area of the current worker in the length direction of the green belt according to the maximum deviation distance and a positioning device worn by the worker; and if the real-time position of the collecting opening of the green belt sweeping and collecting vehicle does not completely cover the garbage collecting area, a self-following system of the green belt sweeping and collecting vehicle is started, so that the collecting opening of the green belt sweeping and collecting vehicle moves along with the operating personnel and completely covers the garbage collecting area, and garbage collection is achieved. The garbage collection device ensures low labor intensity and high efficiency in the garbage collection process.
