The invention provides a prestressed steel strand anchor rod and a construction method thereof. The prestressed steel strand anchor rod comprises a rod body and a prestressed steel strand, the prestressed steel strand is provided with a plurality of anchor cables, and the prestressed steel strand anchor rod is characterized by further comprising a first pressure bearing plate, a second pressure bearing plate, a clamping piece anchorage device, a supporting clamping plate and an extrusion anchor, the anchor cables of the prestressed steel strand penetrate through the first pressure bearing plate one by one and are tensioned at the first pressure bearing plate, and the extrusion anchor penetrates through the second pressure bearing plate. The clamping piece anchorage device locks the tensioned prestressed steel strand at the upper end of the first bearing plate; the multiple anchor cables penetrate through the supporting clamping plate one by one and then are sequentially arranged on the second pressure bearing plate and the extrusion anchor in a sleeving mode, and the supporting clamping plate is arranged above the clamping piece anchorage device through resilience force of the anchor cables. Two anchorage devices are arranged, the first anchorage device locks prestress, and the second anchorage device is used for preventing the bearing plate from falling off; the advantages of a clamping piece anchor and an extrusion anchor are fully utilized, and the anchor rod can be well constructed before a bottom plate.
