The invention discloses a socket climbing type derrick operation protection device. According to the technical scheme, when protection of elevator shaft operation is carried out, firstly, the transverse hydraulic jacking device is adjusted to a specified supporting range through the vertical hydraulic jacking device, and then the transverse hydraulic jacking device is operated until the transverse hydraulic jacking device is supported on at least the wall of the elevator shaft, so that the whole frame body is supported by a structural beam and/or a shear wall; and at the moment, the frame body is fixedly supported in the elevator shaft wall. Operating personnel performing elevator shaft operation can enter the space between the upper seat body and the lower seat body, and safety protection on the operating personnel is achieved. The protection device breaks through the mode that an elevator derrick is erected through steel pipes in the prior art, can move and climb up and down, provides a working face for operation and installation of an elevator shaft, and greatly improves the safety of the working environment; and meanwhile, on the premise of ensuring safety, the mounting and dismounting efficiency is improved, reutilization can be achieved, and the protection cost is reduced.
