The invention discloses a mortar admixture containing waste glass fiber reinforced plastic powder and a preparation method thereof, and is characterized in that the mortar admixture comprises the following raw materials by weight: 1%-8% of cellulose ether, 1%-9% of a retarder, 2%-3% of a lubricant, 3%-7% of an air entraining agent, and 40%-80% of glass fiber reinforced plastic powder. According to the present invention, the ratio is reasonable, the preparation process is simple, the prepared reinforcing agent is used for mortar, the high value utilization of waste glass fiber reinforced plastic is achieved, and the experiment results show that the finer the waste glass powder particles are, the greater the physical filling effect is, and the mechanical crushing waste glass fiber reinforced plastic is doped in the mortar as the aggregate or the filler so as to achieve the good reinforcing effect. Fibers in the waste glass fiber reinforced plastic powder can obviously improve the bonding strength of the mortar; meanwhile, the glass fiber reinforced plastic powder contains a large amount of organic polymer materials, and the materials are filled into the mortar, so that a certain waterproof effect can be achieved.
