The invention provides a basalt fiber reinforced cement-based composite material and a preparation method thereof, the basalt fiber reinforced cement-based composite material comprises the following components by weight: 10-24 parts of cement, 20-25 parts of quartz fine sand, 35-55 parts of a mineral admixture, 2-3 parts of magnesium oxide, 0.2-0.5 part of a water reducer, and 5-20 parts of water; the basalt fiber reinforced cement-based composite material further comprises basalt fibers, and the mixing amount of the basalt fibers accounts for 1-3% of the total weight of the cement-based composite material. The basalt fibers are twisted and stranded fibers subjected to impregnating compound coating modification treatment. The cement-based composite material provided by the invention relieves the problem of ECC high-temperature ductility failure, realizes effective resistance to impact load or explosion load, and improves the durability of the cement-based material.
