The invention relates to a graphite product and a manufacturing method thereof. A graphite article is provided that is formed from a corrugated graphite sheet. A corrugated graphite sheet has a first major surface and a second major surface disposed opposite the first major surface, and a plurality of large pleats, each large pleat having a plurality of associated micro-pleats, where each micro-pleat is smaller than the associated large pleat. The wrinkled graphite article has improved flexibility as compared to non-wrinkled graphite flakes. The wrinkled graphite flakes may be formed from flakes of flexible natural graphite or flakes of synthetic graphite.
