Provided is a breather pipe for an oscillation starting device, which allows the inflow or outflow of air according to the differential pressure between the inside and outside of a housing, and which can prevent water from entering the housing even if the breather pipe is submerged in water. The present invention is provided with: a central passage (61) that is formed so as to extend from an inner section (31) to an outer section (32) of an oscillation-starting shaft (3); an inner opening (62) formed in the outer peripheral surface of the inner section (31); an air suction opening (63) formed in the surface of the outer part (32); an exhaust opening (64); an inner passage (65) that connects the central passage (61) and the inner opening (62); an intake passage (66) that connects the central passage (61) and the intake opening (63); and an exhaust passage (67) that connects the central passage (61) and the exhaust opening (64), in which an intake valve (7) that opens when the pressure in the housing becomes negative is disposed in the intake passage (66), and in which an exhaust valve (8) that opens when the pressure in the housing becomes positive is disposed in the exhaust passage (67).
