Furthermore, the particle size distribution of the Al compound particles in the cross section of the cBN sintered body is such that the proportion of Al compound particles having a particle size of 0.3 [mu] m or more is 5% or more and the proportion of Al compound particles having a particle size of 0.5 [mu] m or more is less than 5% in the cumulative distribution of the Al compound particles based on the number of the Al compound particles.
