The desert grass grid laying device comprises a rack, a walking mechanism, a ditching mechanism, a grass laying mechanism, a pressing mechanism and a righting mechanism, the grass laying mechanism is arranged on the rear side of the ditching mechanism and comprises a first tooth roller and a second tooth roller which are the same in structure, a rotating frame is arranged on the rack, the first tooth roller comprises a first roller shaft, and the second tooth roller comprises a second roller shaft; a plurality of discs are fixedly arranged on the first roller shaft in a sleeving manner, a plurality of teeth are uniformly distributed on the peripheral surfaces of the discs, and the peripheral surfaces of the teeth are arc-shaped; the driving assembly is used for driving the first tooth roller to rotate; the transmission assembly is used for driving the second tooth roller and the first tooth roller to rotate oppositely. According to the straw laying machine, a first tooth roller and a second tooth roller are arranged, when two gears rotate, a straw curtain can be evenly laid from top to bottom, and meanwhile it is guaranteed that the shape of the straw curtain is not damaged; and the speed regulating unit is arranged to ensure that the two first hydraulic cylinders can realize synchronous lifting, so that the pressing wheels are not deflected.
