The grass grid laying device comprises a rack, a turf conveying mechanism, a grass inserting mechanism and a moving mechanism, wherein the turf conveying mechanism comprises a rolling shaft used for bearing a turf roll and a laying assembly used for laying turf wound on the turf roll on the surface of the desert, and the rolling shaft is rotationally installed at the top of the rack; the grass inserting mechanism comprises a grass inserting cutter which is movably arranged up and down and a driving assembly for driving the grass inserting cutter to reciprocate up and down; the cutting edge of the grass inserting cutter is arranged downwards, and the driving assembly drives the grass inserting cutter to move up and down in a reciprocating mode so as to press the middle portion of turf laid on the surface of the desert into the sand; the moving mechanism drives the rack to move on the surface of sand. The device is used for laying straw checks in desert environment treatment, the use cost of using large mechanical equipment is reduced, and the device is easy to operate, convenient to transport, high in automation degree and capable of reducing the workload of workers.
