The invention discloses light plastering gypsum mortar which is composed of the following components in percentage by mass: 92-96 parts of gypsum, 2-6 parts of a doxorubicin ether additive and 2-5 parts of a gypsum retarder, the gypsum is calcined desulfurized gypsum, the doxorubicin ether additive is a mixture of doxorubicin ether, animal cream and a stabilizing agent, and the gypsum retarder is sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylate. The light plastering gypsum mortar is prepared by the following steps: firstly, preparing the multi-element ether additive, then weighing the other components in parts by mass, adding into a mortar stirrer, and fully and uniformly stirring to obtain the required light plastering mortar. The light plastering gypsum prepared by the invention is light in weight, high in strength, water-resistant and low in use cost.
