The invention provides a porous ceramic heating element and a preparation method thereof, and relates to the technical field of aerosol generating devices.The porous ceramic heating element comprises a base body and a heating body, the base body is provided with a first surface and a second surface which are opposite in the thickness direction of the base body, the base body is provided with a plurality of liquid guiding holes, and each liquid guiding hole penetrates through the first surface and the second surface; and the aperture of each liquid guide hole is 0.25 to 1.15 mm. The plurality of liquid guide holes are symmetrically arranged relative to a reference surface, and the reference surface is a plane which passes through the center of the base body and is parallel to the thickness direction of the base body. The heating body is arranged on the second surface, a plurality of heating holes are formed in the heating body in the thickness direction in a penetrating mode, and each heating hole is communicated with the corresponding liquid guide hole. The diameter of the liquid guide hole is 0.25-1.15 mm. The liquid guide hole with the diameter can lock oil and store a certain amount of aerosol matrix and can provide more aerosol matrix for the heating body, and the heating body is not prone to burning dry to cause burning of the core.
