The invention relates to porous ceramic and a preparation method thereof, an atomizer and an electronic cigarette. The preparation method of the porous ceramic comprises the following steps: mixing raw materials for preparing the porous ceramic to prepare a mixture; and molding and sintering the mixture to prepare the porous ceramic, wherein the raw materials comprise the following components in parts by mass: 60-80 parts of diatomite, 15-35 parts of an inorganic adhesive and 5-10 parts of a pore-forming agent; the particle size of the diatomite is in normal distribution, and D50 of the diatomite is less than or equal to 42 microns; the pore-forming agent comprises a first pore-forming agent and a second pore-forming agent, and the particle size of the first pore-forming agent is different from that of the second pore-forming agent. The porous ceramic prepared by the preparation method of the porous ceramic is relatively large in volume stacking density, high in strength, relatively high in oil absorption speed and relatively high in matching degree with tobacco tar of different taste types.
