The invention discloses high-toughness composite ceramic based on ZrSi-Ti3SiC2 as well as a preparation method and application of the high-toughness composite ceramic. The invention belongs to the field of multiphase ceramic materials. The invention aims to solve the technical problem that the existing titanium carbide-silicon carbide composite ceramic cannot give consideration to sinterability and excellent fracture toughness at the same time. The composite ceramic is composed of a TiCx phase, a SiC phase, a (Zr, Ti) Cx solid solution phase, a ZrSi phase and a Ti3SiC2 phase. The method comprises the following steps: step 1, mixing TiC powder, Si powder and ZrC powder to obtain mixed powder, adding absolute ethyl alcohol for ultrasonic treatment, and then ball-milling, mixing, drying and sieving under the protection of inert gas to obtain ceramic powder; 2, the ceramic powder is subjected to hot pressed sintering, and the high-toughness composite ceramic based on ZrSi-Ti3SiC2 is obtained. The ZrSi-Ti3SiC2-based high-toughness composite ceramic disclosed by the invention is used for preparing cutters, molds and aerospace materials.
