The invention discloses a preparation method of an alumina ceramic sintering aid, which comprises the following steps: S1, mixing magnesium nitrate, aluminum nitrate, tetraethyl orthosilicate, a dispersant, a monomer and a cross-linking agent with water to prepare a solution for later use; s2, heating the solution, adding an initiator, stirring and mixing until gel appears, and standing; and S3, drying the gel, and calcining to obtain the sintering aid. According to the preparation method disclosed by the invention, the uniformly mixed MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 composite powder is prepared by adopting a chemical method, so that the problem that the MgO powder, the Al2O3 powder and the SiO2 powder are mixed by mechanical ball milling traditionally to cause non-uniformity of each powder is avoided; and the prepared MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 composite powder is used as a sintering aid, and the alumina ceramic material is prepared by sintering under normal pressure, so that the sintering temperature is effectively reduced, ceramic grains are prevented from growing, the energy can be saved, and the ceramic performance can be improved.
