The invention relates to the field of inorganic polymer materials, and aims to provide a fly ash-based inorganic polymer coating material and a preparation method thereof, the coating material comprises the following raw materials by weight: 12-18 parts of fly ash, 2-8 parts of metakaolin, 10-12 parts of a composite alkali activator, and 0.08-0.2 part of fiber. According to the invention, fly ash and metakaolin are adopted as raw materials, industrial solid wastes are fully utilized, and sustainable development of society is facilitated; the prepared fly ash-based inorganic polymer coating material has the excellent properties of high early strength, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and the like; and the preparation process is simple and easy to popularize.
