The invention discloses an automobile tail door limiting shaft and a machining method thereof.The automobile tail door limiting shaft comprises a main body part which is in a circular tube shape, an inner hole is formed in the main body part, the two ends of the inner hole penetrate to the two ends of the main body part, the inner hole is coaxial with the central axis of the main body part, limiting tooth sets are arranged at the two ends of the main body part, and each limiting tooth set comprises a plurality of limiting teeth; the limiting teeth are arranged at the end part of the main body part in a circumferential array; the limiting part is arranged on the outer side of the main body part in a sleeving mode, a plurality of limiting grooves are formed in the limiting part, and the limiting grooves are all parallel to the central axis of the main body part; wherein the main body part and the limiting part are of an integrated structure. The machining method is used for producing the automobile tail door limiting shaft. The traditional pure CNC machining is replaced by the cold heading machining and CNC machining combined technology, forming of all parts can be completed after one-time clamping, and the production efficiency is improved; and moreover, the cutting output of CNC cutting machining is reduced, and consumption of raw materials is reduced.
