The invention relates to the technical field of bridge engineering high pier construction, in particular to a pre-pressing device and method for a high pier support. The pre-pressing device for the high pier support comprises a spliced partial load beam, a jack, a steering device and a plurality of steel strands. The spliced partial load beam is arranged on the top surface of the bracket group, and the jack is matched with the bridge pier; one ends of the multiple steel strands are arranged on the spliced partial load beam, the other ends of the multiple steel strands penetrate through the steering device, the steering device is configured to gather the multiple steel strands penetrating through the steering device to form a steel cable bundle, and the steel cable bundle is connected with the jack; and the jack is used for tensioning the steel strand, so that the steel strand transmits tensile force to the spliced partial load beam, pressure is applied to the support, and prepressing of the support is completed. In this way, the defects of an existing support pre-pressing method can be overcome, support pre-pressing can be completed only through one jack, the construction steps are simple, control is easy, and the construction efficiency is high.
