The invention relates to a handle for a vehicle door, comprising:-a grip member (1) configured to cooperate with an activation member (2) in order to activate a latch of the vehicle door and to unlock the vehicle door, the grip member (1) and the activation member (2) being rotatably mounted about a grip axis (10) and an activation axis (20), respectively,-electronic means for electronically activating the latch of the vehicle door, -a holder (3) intended to receive the gripping member (1) and the activation member (2),-a holding member (4) mounted on the holder (3) for rotation about a holding axis (40) and having a predetermined holding force, where the gripping axis (10), the activation axis (20) and the holding axis (40) are parallel to each other, where the activation member (2) comprises a drive element (22) and the holding member (4) comprises a stop element (42), the drive element (22) cooperates with the stop element (42) such that, when the grip member (1) is pulled from the rest position to the mechanically activated position, the activation member (2) is actuated according to the drive force, the drive element (22) contacts and is held by the stop element (42) until the drive force exceeds a predetermined holding force.
