The invention relates to the technical field of tap water supply, in particular to a backwater control method and device for a direct drinking water supply pipe network and a medium. The control method comprises the following steps: 1) confirming a to-be-returned water branch pipe; 2) within the power of the water pump, determining a current branch water pipe combination to be subjected to water return by taking the shortest total water return time as an optimization target; and 3) opening an electromagnetic valve of the to-be-returned water branch pipe, starting a water pump, and returning water to the current to-be-returned water branch pipe combination. The to-be-returned water branch pipe is determined according to the flow of each water pipe, and it is ensured that direct drinking water in the direct drinking water supply pipe network is fresh; water is returned one by one in a combined mode, the utilization rate of the water pump power and the water return time is ensured, meanwhile, the shutdown rest time is gained for the water pump as much as possible, and the service life of the water pump is prolonged.
