The invention discloses a construction method of a damping building, the building structure comprises a main building and a podium building connected with the main building, a viscous energy dissipater is mounted on a frame column of a building outer wall on the ground of the podium building, and the viscous energy dissipater is arranged away from the outer wall on one side of the main building; and a plurality of viscous damping walls are mounted on the peripheral wall bodies of each floor of the building above the ground of the main building. The viscous energy dissipater is installed on the outer wall of the side, away from the main building, of the podium building, and the viscous damping walls are installed on the outer walls of the periphery of the main building, so that the building outer walls can achieve the anti-seismic and damping effects.
