The invention discloses a device for assembling a steel box arch segment, which comprises four alignment devices, and a steel box arch segment to be assembled is in butt joint with an assembled steel box arch segment through the exteriors of the four alignment devices; the two first adjusting devices are used for adjusting the height positions of the to-be-assembled steel box arch sections; the second adjusting device is used for adjusting a gap at the butt joint of the assembled steel box arch section and the to-be-assembled steel box arch section; the invention further discloses a construction method for assembling the steel box arch segments. The alignment device plays a role in limiting and guiding when the to-be-assembled steel box arch sections are assembled, the butt joint precision is improved, in the assembling process, the steel wire rope of the hoisting system is always kept in a stressed state, a part of load of the to-be-assembled steel box arch sections is borne, and the assembling efficiency is improved. And the first adjusting device and the second adjusting device are assisted to adjust the position of the to-be-assembled steel box arch section, so that the adjusting difficulty is reduced, and the construction efficiency is improved.
