The invention discloses a high-strength lightweight gypsum prefabricated slab and a preparation method thereof. The method comprises the following steps: S1, preparing the following raw materials in parts by weight: 20-60 parts of alpha-hemihydrate phosphogypsum, 10-55 parts of aggregate, 5-15 parts of superfine composite powder, 2-8 parts of lime, 0.2-1.5 parts of a foaming agent, 0.3-2.0 parts of a polycarboxylic acid water reducer, 0.1-1.5 parts of hydroxyethyl modified starch ether, 0.02-0.3 part of a retarder and 20-33 parts of water; s2, sequentially adding a foaming agent, a polycarboxylic acid water reducer, hydroxyethyl modified starch ether and a retarder into water, and uniformly stirring to prepare a mixed solution; s3, carrying out dry mixing on the alpha-semi-hydrated phosphogypsum, the superfine composite powder, the aggregate and the lime; s4, adding the material prepared in the step S3 into the mixed solution, and carrying out wet mixing; and S5, carrying out semi-dry pressing molding to obtain the high-strength light gypsum prefabricated slab. The method has the characteristics of high solid waste utilization rate, simple preparation process and low cost, and the prepared gypsum board has the advantages of low density, low shrinkage, high strength, high water resistance and the like, and is suitable for being popularized and applied as a prefabricated wallboard.
