The invention belongs to the technical field of green building materials, and provides a method for preparing reactive artificial sand based on red mud reinforced steel slag accelerated carbonization. According to the method, an accelerated carbonization means is adopted, the artificial sand is prepared through three carbonization processes with different effects, the CO2 absorption rate is further increased, and meanwhile the mechanical property of the artificial sand and the cementing property of an interface between the artificial sand and cement paste are greatly improved. The preparation method has the advantages of high preparation efficiency, high strength of the artificial sand, no stability problem and the like. Another way is provided for replacing natural river sand in concrete, and the use amount of the river sand can be reduced on the premise that the mechanical property of a cement-based material is not reduced when the natural river sand is applied to cement mortar and concrete. Besides, the capacity of the domestic market every year is about 6-8 billion tons only by replacing 30% of the volume of the river sand aggregate, and the low-grade solid waste such as steel slag and the like can be consumed by more than 0.5 billion tons.
