In some embodiments, the control system may include at least one total station prism connected to a screed assembly of the paver and a controller. The controller may be configured to obtain paving information indicative of a location of an edge of a mat of paving material deposited by the paver. The paving information may indicate the location of the edge based on data collected using at least one total station prism. The controller may be configured to determine an operation plan for one or more compactors that provide compaction of the mat based on the location of the edge. The controller may be configured to send plan information indicative of an operation plan to another controller of the one or more compactors.
