The invention discloses a steel strand pulling auxiliary device and method. The steel strand pulling auxiliary device comprises a power mechanism and a traction mechanism. The power mechanism is arranged at the end part of the beam bridge which is not subjected to steel strand pulling operation; the traction mechanism comprises a traction rod, a first limiting component and a second limiting component; the first end of the traction rod is connected with the output end of the power mechanism, and the second end of the traction rod obliquely extends in the direction of the area between the two adjacent span bridges. Wherein the power mechanism is used for driving the traction rod to reciprocate back and forth in the same vertical plane; the first limiting component and the second limiting component are arranged at the second end of the traction rod in parallel in a spaced mode, and the to-be-operated prestressed steel strand is located between the first limiting component and the second limiting component. The traction rod reciprocates back and forth, so that tension is continuously provided for the to-be-operated prestressed steel strand, the steel strand advances along a prestressed duct, manual operation is replaced to carry out auxiliary strand pulling operation on the prestressed steel strand in a narrow space, the number of operators is reduced, and the operation time is shortened.
