The invention discloses an extended steel column for an existing concrete column and a construction method thereof.The extended steel column comprises a column cap, the column cap comprises a rectangular base plate and a side plate, the shape and size of the rectangular base plate are matched with the shape and size of the cross section of the existing concrete column, and the outer edge of the rectangular base plate extends downwards to form the side plate; the side plates are arranged in a circle in the circumferential direction of the rectangular base plate, and a constraint space allowing an existing concrete column to be inserted is defined between the side plates and the rectangular base plate; the four side faces of the side plates and the rectangular base plate are each provided with the multiple rows of anchor bolts, the multiple rows of anchor bolts are arranged at intervals in the vertical direction, and the anchor bolts on the two adjacent side faces of the side plates and the anchor bolts on the rectangular base plate are arranged in a staggered mode; the steel column body is installed on the rectangular base plate, and a plurality of supporting plates are connected between the outer edge of the rectangular base plate and the side wall of the steel column body. The embedded column foot solves the problems that when an original vertical component is lengthened through an embedded column foot of an existing steel structure column, excavation and secondary concrete pouring are needed, the construction period is long, and inconvenience is caused.
