The invention provides lightweight high-strength ceramsite prepared from aluminum ash and a preparation method of the lightweight high-strength ceramsite, and belongs to the technical field of solid waste recycling. The method for preparing the lightweight high-strength ceramsite by using the aluminum ash comprises the following steps: mixing 60-86% of the aluminum ash, 5-20% of gasified slag, 5-20% of ferrosilicon ash, 4-10% of bentonite and an additive to obtain a mixed material; the mass of the additive is 2-4% of the total mass of the aluminum ash, the gasification slag, the ferrosilicon ash and the bentonite; adding water into the mixed material, and then sequentially balling, aging and drying to obtain ceramsite to be sintered; the ceramsite to be sintered is heated to 200 DEG C from the room temperature in 1-2 h, then heated to 500 DEG C from 200 DEG C in 1-2 h, then heated to 800 DEG C from 500 DEG C in 2-3 h, then heated to 1100 DEG C from 800 DEG C in 2-3 h and finally sintered at the temperature of 1100-1240 DEG C, and the light high-strength ceramsite is obtained.
