An acoustic shield (1, 30, 40) for a window, comprising: one or more acoustic cavity modules (5, 33, 52) positionable over at least a portion of an opening of the window, the or each of the modules providing at least one resonant opening (8) for reducing a total sound pressure level of sound waves passing through the resonant opening, the invention relates to an acoustic cavity module comprising a plurality of plates (7, 35, 54, 60, 62, 64) aligned in a substantially parallel and adjacent configuration such that a resonant cavity is defined between each pair of plates, each plate having at least one aperture (9, 37, 39, 55), the apertures of each plate together providing the resonant opening (8) of the module; wherein the or each of the acoustic cavity modules is designed to capture a noise frequency between 800 Hz and 1600 Hz, and wherein the or each of the acoustic cavity modules is designed to capture a noise frequency between 800 Hz and 1600 Hz.
