The invention relates to the technical field of bridge expansion joints, in particular to a bridge expansion joint connecting device and a construction method thereof.The bridge expansion joint connecting device comprises special-shaped steel bars connected with beam bodies on the left side and the right side, and the special-shaped steel bars on the left side and the right side are connected through an upper assembly and a lower assembly; sliding rails are arranged on the horizontal planes of the special-shaped steel bars on the left side and the right side, and nuts are embedded in the sliding rails. Grooves are formed in the lower ends of the special-shaped steel bars on the left side and the right side correspondingly, and shells are arranged in the grooves. The upper assembly comprises a first upper pressing plate, a second upper pressing plate, a third upper pressing plate and a fourth upper pressing plate which are sequentially connected through screws from left to right.
